Thank you for this information. So how do you convert followers into customers. I have 500 followers on my site but converting them into users is a different factor. I update them with news feeds , offers etc but from this I find very few conversion, leading me to beleive that social media sites like this require a lot more tweeking before they benefit businesses. I also have used Facebook advertising and had zero return on my investment compared to Google Adwords.

I feel sometimes that people sign up to your Twitter feeds etc with good intention maybe but alas I would not spend too much time on this form of marketing, it is very hit and miss from my experience.

Any suggestions on how Twitter could improve this avenue would be welcome.

That's a huge lead for those hotels, what do you think they're doing that make them so successful? We're up to about 620 after only a few months now. If anybody is interested in following us about #cloud #technology news make sure you do so on Twitter or at http://hotelogix.com.

Until the development of hotel software for reservation, the reservation executives had to keep manual logs of their visitors. The process was time consuming and all irritating at both ends.
