Have you, hoteliers,
considered Web 2.0 (guest reviews, blogs, travel community…) into your strategy
and marketing plan for next year?
That’s the question that Max Starkov and Jason Price from Hospitality eBusiness Strategies are addressing on this report. Check out their interesting blog as well.
I still believe the hospitality industry is still a bit behind about embracing and understand what to do with this new generation of websites and web 2.0 techniques. But 2008 looks promising. I was exchanging emails the other day with a former school mate who told me he was looking regularly on TripAdvisor how his hotel was ranked and if there were any serious negative comments from reviewers. I have spotted recently a small hotel chain in Paris with its blog. I am sure more examples are to come for 2008.

I think this is a really great blog entry. It is true that the hotel industry seems behind on marketing on the web, but I'm sure everyone will catch up eventually.
