Tuesday:
Sabre Holdings - the parent company behind theAmerican GDS (Global Distribution System), Lastminute.com, Travelocity and more - has been acquired for approximately $5 billion by 2 private equity firms Silver Lake Partners and TPG (Texas Pacific Group). This is the second acquisition in the GDS world, 3 days after the buyout of Worldspan by Travelport for $1.4 billion.
Wednesday:
Best Western annouces an XML interface with their online intermediary partner Hotel.de/TravelRes and cut the middle man, the switch company Pegasus in the deal. We seem to see more of those interfaces between hotel chains and online intermediairies (Premier Travel Inn and BSI).

I discover that Accor has a new hotel brand "All Seasons" with a new opening in Thailand
Friday: Metro reveals the opening a new exceptional hotel in Turkey - the Adam & Eve Hotel - rooms start at £240 a night. It has one of the largest pool in the

You should really start this up again as it is a fantastic idea and with the current economic crunch UK residents will be looking for travel in the UK more and the better the offers the more likely they are to considor a weekend break.
