As you might have seen on the news last week, Travelport has decided to acquire the GDS Worldspan for $1.4 billion. Worldpsan is a 16 years old company which works with 750 travel suppliers and 63,000 travel agencies. Now I don't want to make any comparison here but considering the latest acquisition in October of YouTube (a still non profitable company) by Google for $1.65 billion, that recent travel acquisition looks very much a good deal for Travelport no?
4 GDS to become 3 in the next 12 months...
