If you remember, we had the 1 million dollar page not so long ago. Well now, we have Hotelier.com who sells pixels for Hotels advertisers. Accor, Travelocity and more have purchased some space to display their logos. I have created beginning of the year a page with logos about e-travel which was not a commercial action by the way (there is no hyperlink on the logos).
Hotelier.com:

Hi, how can we add a logo (vinivi) to your list of travel website ??

Let's see if the hotelier.com copy of the million-dollar page concept really works well...so far havent seen any publicity about it + the pagerank is still 2/10.

If you ask me, this one's destined for failure. Pixel advertising has worked (well) once - in the form of Alex Tew's site - and will only work like that once.
I may be wrong but I seriously doubt the likes of Accor and Travelocity have bought ads on the site. More likely, it's an affiliate link or just been put there to make the site look more attractive to future would-be advertisers.

I would agree with you. I am not too sure how serious this site is. I also doubt that big hotel chains have paid for the min 100$ that Terms and Conditions claims (see http://www.hotelier.com/getpixel.php). If you know anyone who purchased pixels on this website, could you let us know and share with us if that proves to be a succesful way to promote your site.
